Curriculum Vitae

In the spring of 1968, Leslie Cole received his initial security training administered by the Government of the State of Israel. He holds a Masters Degree in Criminal Justice from John Jay College of Criminal Justice, along with training in 52 areas of Public Safety from 22 institutions and organizations.

He received his Certified Protection Professional (CPP) designation from ASIS, International in 1982 and his Certified Security Trainer (CST) designation from the Academy of Security Educators and Trainers in 1987.

Since establishing his Security Management Consulting firm in 1983, he has provided liability expertise to hundreds of satisfied clients in 20 States, the District of Columbia and a few Caribbean Islands.

Prior to establishing his company, Leslie Cole was Corporate Director of Security and Claims for a national parking company. From 1973 to 1975, he was an Insurance Investigator; and from 1968 to 1970, he performed Secret Service and FBI-type operations for the Government of Liberia. Mr. Cole, a frequent lecturer to Public Safety professionals, has served as an Adjunct Professor of Security at New Jersey City University. In 2003, Leslie Cole was recruited by the International Maritime Organization (IMO), an agency of the United Nations, and served as a Consultant to member nations, performing Security Assessments of Ports.

Leslie Cole who has been listed in 5 Who's Who, was elected to the Township of Union Board of Education in 1989 and served for 6 years, one of which as its President. He also served on numerous Boards in the Township of Union, including ten years on the Library Board, serving as its President for two years. Leslie Cole is currently a member of the Emergency Management Committee of the Township of Union, County of Union.

Leslie Cole is the Chair of the Educational Institutions Security Council and a Former Chair of the Crime and Loss Prevention Council of ASIS, International, the world’s largest security organization with 35,000 members worldwide. Since 1999, Leslie has participated in the Society’s Academic/Practitioner Symposium and has moderated sessions at the Annual Seminar and Exhibits. Currently, he serves as the Vice Chairman and since 2000, concurrently served as the Program Chairperson for the Northern New Jersey Chapter. In 2002, he was the recipient of the Region XVI Distinguished Award to the CPP Program. In 2004, Leslie Cole was both the Chapter Member of the Year and the coveted Council Chairman of The Year for ASIS, International.
